Course Introduction:
This course provides an in-depth study of matter, its properties, and its
behavior. The course will analyze chemical and physical changes,
progresses to atomic structure, the elements, and their periodic natures,
chemical reactions, ions in solutions, with emphasis on acid-base reactions.
Supplementary work includes in-depth laboratories at Community College of
Philadelphia on Saturday mornings.Goals and Objectives:
Each student will become proficient in applying the processes of
analysis, synthesis, and evaluation to the solution of challenging
scientific problems and in the application and understanding of technology
in society.
