Freshman biology is a college preparatory biology course in which classroom instruction is reinforced with practical applications at the laboratories of the Community College of Philadelphia. This course covers ecosystems, biodiversity, biochemistry, cellular structure and function, genetics, classification of organisms, basic anatomy and physiology. Knowledge acquired during freshman biology enables students to make informed decisions concerning the health and well being of both themselves and their environment.
