The Prep Charter High School Chess Club meets every Wednesday afternoon. Students can learn to play chess or compete against another club member. Club membership is open to all.

Since 2007, the Prep Charter Chess Team has competed in the Philadelphia Public School Chess League. Students on the Prep Charter team play against students from other high schools across the city. The season begins with tryouts in October and culminates with playoffs in early February.
